Reflections: Now that time has passed since Stella left us, I feel able to fully appreciate the care she was given by all of the medical staff of the National Health Service. The doctors and nurses at the Royal Surrey Hospital, who first diagnosed Stella’s illness, were magnificent. In the middle of the first wave of the Covid disaster, there was never a time when Stella was shunted to the side because the staff were overworked. During her Chemo, and the later operation, all of her appointments were on time and the procedures completed. Never were we spoken down to or made to feel we couldn’t understand what was going on. When we moved to Devon, and Stella was transferred to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, we received the same exceptional care. The Ambulance Service did amazing work, considering the immense pressures they were under. HospiceCare of Devon is a truly wonderful organisation. The District Nurses and the local carers treated us like family. My respect and thanks to all of those who cared for us. John Barrow
So glad to have had the opportunity to see Stella over the last couple of years and just wish we could all have had more time. I will miss her very much. Little Stella xxx
We hope that by making a donation towards Hospicecare, it will help them to continue the very special and caring ways that they give their patients, just like Stella received from them.
