I started work at Decca Radar, New Malden, Surrey, about the  same time as Stella. We hit it off straight away and became good friends. The admin at the time was a mess but between us we worked hard and got it ship shape. 

I  remember saving up my green shield stamps ( if anyone remembers them) to get a ceramic chicken to keep my eggs in. Stella talked me out it. Unbeknown  to me she had bought me a Beswick chicken and I still have it today. Not even a chip on it and always full of eggs.

I  moved to Chelmsford,Essex in 1977. We kept in touch until Stella and John moved to America. I last spoke to her New Years eve 1980, long distance to America.Over the years I  tried to find her to make contact but, unfortunately, was  unsuccessful. 

I  stumbled on this page and was sad and upset to hear of Stella's passing. I never forgot her. I will make a donation to Farleigh Hospice in her memory.
